Thermally Modified Wood Collection cladding is made to last. Not only does it have great curb appeal, it’s also more durable than typical wood siding because it resists rot. The innovative thermal modification process stabilizes the wood, making it less vulnerable to shrinking and seasonal expansion and contraction.
Our thermally modified boards come in a variety of on-trend natural or prestained colors. The tongue and groove profiled planks can be installed as siding or for wall and ceiling applications. Our finishing process highlights the natural and random variation of the wood grain. These variations help provide a unique finish for each board.
Wood grain color may vary from board to board due to natural characteristics of wood.
Surface Texture
Boards are wire-brushed to highlight the natural wood grain.
Tongue and Groove
Interlocking wood pattern requires fewer exposed fasteners.
Color Comparison
Timber Ridge has some wood grain read through whereas Black Forest has no wood grain read through.
Rot Resistant
The thermal modification process makes the wood resistant to rot and decay.
End-Matching
For faster install and less waste.
Random Lengths
Long length boards come in random length tallies.
Matching Trim
Choose from a variety of 1x trim.
Made Domestically
Sourced and manufactured in North America.

Are there any harmful chemicals used in the thermal modification process? No. The thermal modification is done in a control environment and is cured out by the time products are handled for installation.
-
Is thermally modified wood resistant to rot, termites and other insects?Yes. Thermally modified wood is more resistant to rot, termites and other insects than non-thermally modified wood.
-
Will the thermally modified wood expand and contract?Expansion and contraction are greatly minimized through the thermal modification process. Slight movement can still occur, but it is significantly less than untreated wood.
-
Are touch-up kits available?Touch-up kits are available for purchase online at Home Depot, Lowe's, Wayfair, and in-store at select independent retailers.
-
What type of fasteners are required for exterior application?Stainless steel screw fasteners are required for exterior applications.
-
What type of fasteners are required for interior application?15- or 16-gauge trim nails are recommended for interior installation.
-
Should I pre-drill holes for fasteners?Yes. Predrilling holes for fasteners is recommended. Areas especially prone to cracking such as the ends of the boards should always be predrilled. The thermal modification process makes the wood slightly more brittle and therefore can be more prone to splitting.
-
How long will the prefinished color last?Thermally Modified Wood Collection cladding is prefinished in a controlled setting with a proprietary two-coat exterior coating. Over time the finish will require some maintenance/refinishing. Depending on the application and the amount of UV exposure, refinishing/maintenance may be needed within a few years. However, if the cladding is not exposed to direct UV light the finish may last several years with minimal wood maintenance upkeep.

All-natural wood preservation
Our wood cladding is modified with an all-natural process that alters the wood's fiber cells. This process bakes the wood making it rich in color, resistant to rot, dimensionally stable, and lighter in weight with improved thermal insulation properties.
- Sourced and manufactured in North America
- Stable with minimal cupping or warping
- 20-year limited warranty (rot/decay)
